Art Portfolio - collaboration task

As a new Art Portfolio task, I have to work with a group and create something combining our future courses which are Animation - me, Product Design - my colleague and blog buddy Eleni and Graphic Design - my classmate Martyna. Together with my colleagues were thinking about what can we do with these completely different courses, how to connect them into one project. 

Here are written down our ideas during brainstorming:

Here are the first sketches which were made after a bounce our ideas off. Our main idea was to create story using a storyboard where viewers can see a combination of our future courses which are Graphis Design, Product Design and Animation.

As the last one concept, we took a magic pencil story (based on an old Polish cartoon - Zaczarowany ołówek where similar concept was used). When somebody draws something using this it becomes real. The girl who is the main character has a magic pen which she uses to draw a sofa on which she gets rest later. The last one idea becomes conception which one we decided to do. We agreed that I will do the first three rectangles, Eleni will do the next three and Martyna two the last one.

After deciding about how our story will look like and what we will use to create (we made it digitally) we decided to create a colour palette that will help us do a story with the same colours but in different styles. Which were our intention from the beginning. We decided to use a complementary colour and here is a palette that was created. In the fifth one line were colours which we use during colouring our story.

After sending the drawing to me I glue everything in one file using Photoshop software. That how looks like a combination of our styles and works. 

In the end, we decided to add the title and our names to this work. Here is how it looks like with it:

For title was used, Comic Sans bold font and for writing our names under storyboard was used the same font but with regular, not bold.

I really appreciate works in groups because it has a lot of benefits such as exposure to different perspectives - sharing our knowledge and experience and develop our communication and planning skills. 

Doing this project was nice, the group in which I was, were pretty organized and we good got along so work with Eleni and Martyna was only a pleasure for me. Sharing our ideas and giving feedback on them let us improve our work.
